Introduction and The Goal of The Center For General Education

 

The Center for General Education (CGE) was founded as the Department of General Studies in 1991 and re-named as the Center for Education in Humanities and Social Sciences in Aug. 1997. It gained its present name in 2000 when the College of Humanities and Social Sciences was established in this university. The CGE is in charge of planning and instructing Chinese, Civic Education (Constitution) and general courses. The core of the interdisciplinary goal of the CGE is "kindness and truth", the mission statement of this university, and it follows the goals of instruction "specialization", "internationalization", and "globalization" to foster technical talents with knowledge of a certain field and quality of humanities.
